Job Details

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Planning & Optimization, the Senior Analyst, Network planning will play a key role in the expansion and optimization of Porter’s current and future network. 
Our team’s goal is to ensure that our airline network is optimized to realize its full potential.

We are seeking someone who has a good understanding of the North American airline landscape, network planning experience (airline, consulting firm, airports), and is comfortable working with new planning software. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, inquisitiveness, and have a passion for data analytics and reporting. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and identify new opportunities for close in and long term timeframe; determine the profitability impacts of alliances and also the competitive environment

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify areas of improvement for current network

  • Work with large datasets (demand and capacity) to use with network planning tools to create future network plans

  • Work closely with the network scheduling team to provide insight on current and future trends

  • Be the expert on use of current tools and provide training/advice on its use and any future evaluation of similar tools

  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business/Finance or Technology

  • 3-5 years’ airline experience working with airline planning tools (e.g. Optym, Netline/Plan, Profit Manager), or equivalent

  • Knowledge of network planning, aircraft scheduling and slot management

  • Previous experience in aircraft economics and performance

  • Proficient in the use of other software tools e.g. MS Excel, Tableau, SQL 

  • Strong knowledge of handling large data sets 

  • Able to convey complex ideas to a wide audience

  • Highly proactive, possess advanced problem solving and analytical skills

  • Able to manage shifting priorities and meet tight deadlines 

  • Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination
