Porter Airlines manages a considerable number of shipments for aircraft parts and other maintenance supplies daily. A wide network of couriers, brokers and shipping companies are used to transport these items. Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all activities related to these shipments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily management and coordination of all shipments
Ensure proper handling of AOG shipments from pick up to delivery and to provide continuous information flow between the shipper and the Company
Organization and coordination of Import/Export/Domestic AOG and routine shipments
Negotiate, confirm and monitor rates with carriers
Optimize current network of shippers/couriers to review shipments for accuracy, oversee customs documentation, manage critical shipments and educate all departments of the most cost and time efficient way to shop
Work with individual vendors to ensure level of service arrangements are honored
Develop and monitor all processes surrounding freight shipments including vendor selection during AOG, normal deliveries and expedited deliveries
Develop and monitor all aspects surrounding freight costs and provide monthly updates on freight cost vs target
Review of vendor invoices for accuracy
Ensure all aspects of cross-border shipments are put in place including brokers, bonded storage, paperwork etc.
Perform other functions and duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a logistics or shipping role
Experience with aviation parts is an asset
Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
Must possess strong communication, negotiation skills, and leadership skills
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment and remain professional in stressful situations
Able to obtain a Transport Canada restricted area pass
