Job Details

Reporting to the Supervisor, Training & Systems Support, the Technical Training Writer supports the development of training material for Porter’s Approved Training Organization.       

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and develop technical ATA course modules for the Embraer ERJ 190-400, E195-E2 in support of Porter’s Approved Training Organization

  • Write user-friendly course syllabus and detailed Instructor notes to ensure presentation continuity between all Instructors 

  • Create written exams for type endorsement training based on the requirements contained with the Canadian Aviation Regulations, Standard 566

  • Participate in regular departmental meetings

  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A college diploma in aircraft maintenance from a Transport Canada approved educational facility 

  • Holder of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license  

  • Embraer experience an asset, E190 family 

  • 2-4 years’ experience working as a Trainer or effective Technical Writer within the Industry

  • Experience working in a leadership role within an Approved Maintenance Organization (eg. Maintenance Operations Coordinator, Lead Aircraft Certification Authority, etc).

  • Experience in learning and adult learning facilitation is an asset 

  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to generate published documents

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive unit

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail 

  • Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination
