Job Details

Porter Airlines set a new standard with a flying refined brand promise bringing dignity and ease to travel, with an elevated, high-value experience.  Recently, Porter announced an expansion of its network across North America acquiring up to 100 new Embraer E195 – E2.  This growth plan will make Porter a national airline and create incredible opportunities for team members to expand skill sets, work on new projects, and experience our vast network of destinations.

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) group at Porter Airlines is tasked with providing actionable business insight that will boost financial performance.  The Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate and Treasury position will play a significant role in budget/forecasting, monthly/quarterly internal and external reporting as well as various treasury functions including management of all treasury portals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as a business partner to management and executives, jointly developing forecasting, reporting, analysis, and providing insight into a wide range of business and financial decisions

  • Work with the financial reporting team on Month-end close activities including but not limited to journal entries and accruals review

  • Initiates analysis of monthly variances and work directly the financial reporting team to identify and resolve variances to plan

  • Develops weekly, monthly reporting and enhances the existing KPI reporting and analytical tools to increase efficiency and uncover more insight into business operations

  • Prepare and analyze rolling cash flow forecast on a weekly/monthly basis

  • Create and maintain monthly/quarterly reporting to all stakeholders

  • Provide treasury support including but not limited to treasury portal management, credit reviews with merchant providers, cash management services and payment solutions

  • Management and reporting for external loan facilities and drawdowns

  • Develop and review Board and Audit Committee presentations

  • Become a subject matter expert on Prophix FP&A planning software

  • Focus on continuous improvements of current processes and procedures and provide recommendations for enhancements

  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An undergraduate degree, a professional designation (CPA, CFA) or MBA an asset

  • 2-5 years of work experience in FP&A supporting business units or similar experience

  • Must be an excellent communicator

  • Must have excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills

  • Deadline driven - Workloads tend to peak during the key deadlines of the annual budget, and forecast processes

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams

  • Must be able to rapidly adapt to change and deliver under minimal supervision

  • Experience in operational and cost savings analysis, and the ability to make sound financial decisions, which may impact the company

  • Proven ability to leverage internal relationships and drive change

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and some knowledge of Microsoft Access preferred

  • Database (SQL), VBA, or other Programming knowledge is desirable

  • Knowledge of MS Dynamics (Great Plains), Prophix and Tableau an asset

  • Aviation industry experience is an asset

  • Flexible and a good negotiator

  • A strong background in data management is an asset as there will be a significant effort to integrate big data analytics into the financial modeling

  • Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination
