Job Details

Porter Airlines is looking for a Lead Business Analyst to join our Solutions Delivery team. In this position, you will develop the BA practice at Porter and lead two BAs.  You will be responsible for the conceptualization and analysis stages of our implementation cycle.  

The Lead Business Analyst reports directly to the VP, Digital, Loyalty and Solutions Delivery and will lead the business analysts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the technology and digital managers, UX researcher, PMs and BAs to develop the business analysis processes and templates and ensure they fit within our agile process.  
  • Provide day-to-day and front-line leadership to two business analysts. 
  • Manage the BAs to develop detailed use cases, business requirements and provide support through the SDLC in both agile or waterfall methodologies.
  • Provide thoughtful feedback, guidance, support, and encouragement to the business analysts.
  • Work as a BA on certain projects.
  • Work broadly with business owners, UX researchers, PMs, BAs and technology to break down the business needs into technology/ business solutions that leverage best practices, increase efficiency within our front-line groups and delight Porter customers.
  • Facilitate workshops, conduct interviews and gather data to develop potential solutions.  
  • Develop process and activity maps to support the development and communication of the solution.
  • Present and articulate business/technology solutions to audiences across the organization in a compelling way.
  • Ensure solutions are developed with identified metrics to measure the solution success.
  • Through the implementation process collaborate broadly with business owners, PMs, BAS and technology teams to adjust/tweak or revise solutions that might need to be adjusted due to business or technical challenges that have been identified.  
  • Work independently, but know when to raise issues or seek help from managers and others.
  • Participate in recruiting and hiring of business analysts.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.  Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience working as a business analyst 
  • Experience coaching or mentoring teams.
  • Previous Consulting or client service delivery experience preferred
  • Travel or airline industry experience preferred.  
  • Ability to multitask, attention to detail, ability to demonstrate initiative. 
  • Ability to cope with stress and resilience to work across a number of projects with a variety of team members and balance own workload.
  • Comfortable in an ever-changing environment. 
  • Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination
