Job Details
FUNCTION: This position reports to the Station Manager, Montreal (YUL). The Supervisor, Ramp acts as a point of contact for all ramp team members and oversees the day to day operation of YUL Ramp and keeps the Station Manager fully informed on all matters.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide daily coaching and mentoring to all Ramp team members to create and promote an operationally safe environment
Ensure all Ramp related functions are safely and efficiently conducted on all Porter aircraft
Assist the Station Manager, YUL in making recommendations on hiring, promotions and discipline of Ramp team members
Create, review and amend all month-to-month Ramp scheduling needs to ensure that adequate Ramp staff levels are maintained at all times
Under direction of the Station Manager, YUL. administer tasks such as overtime control/tracking, attendance tracking, payroll data entry, and the administration of shift trades
Manage and ensure all Ramp training and documentation is accurate, complete and up-to-date at all times.
Update and revise the Ramp manual to meet YUL needs
Take an active role in maintaining the GSE on station, including all preventative maintenance tasks, liaising with vendors and ensuring equipment is available for service at all times
Complete and submit nightly aircraft checklists as well as equipment status updates
Oversee the ordering of catering, cleaning and lounge supplies ensuring inventory is maintained while remaining within budget
Coordinate deliveries of supplies following airport guidelines
Responsible for the general maintenance of the Montreal base jet bridges and offices
Working with the Learning and Development team, assist in completing inspections on Canadian bases (YUL base included) concentrating on highlighting best practices and process changes that would increase safety, improve efficiency and customer retention.
Create a team environment where every member of the Ramp team acts and conducts themselves as a cohesive unit
Responsible for the training and initial orientation of all ground and Ramp team members
Effective dispute resolution and dealing with other issues or problems as they arise
Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply with and promote the Company Safety Policy.
Any other duties as assigned by the Station Manager, YUL

QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 5 years of Ramp operations expertise
Negotiation and mediation skills
Ability to obtain necessary security clearances
Valid Provincial driver’s license
Ability to work rotating shifts including days, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays
Dependability (must have a clear attendance record and reliable on-time reporting for work)
Minimum of three years management experience
Eligible to work in Canada
Must be capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 70lbs on a regular basis
Ability to communicate and correspond clearly and precisely in French & English
