Job Details

FUNCTION:  Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Services with a dotted line to Director, Cost Optimization and Strategy, this role is responsible for the identification of cost control and cost reduction opportunities at Porter. The position will be responsible for supporting the three main work streams of the Commercial Services department: procurement, administering the procure to pay platform (Coupa), and strategic cost initiatives.  The successful applicant must be highly analytical, have an aptitude for identifying and breaking down problems to their core components, confident in their ability to communicate, a quick thinker, adept with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and have a general aptitude with cloud based software platforms.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze Porter’s costs structure
  • Identify areas of opportunity for cost reduction
  • Assist in creating business plans and analysis for strategic cost initiatives
  • Support Uniform department by developing and furthering inventory management efforts
  • Increase amount of spend under management via spend analysis and stakeholder engagement
  • Manage some administrative functions within Porter’s P2P software (Coupa)
  • Requests from departments for assistance with POs and errors
  • Provide vendor onboarding training for new business leads
  • Redirect inquires as needed to other internal departments
  • Establish and maintain internal relationships with management and non-management
  • Any other functions as needed by the Manager, Commercial Services
  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A University degree with focus in finance or economics (or a business related field)
  • Previous experience in a corporate environment
  • Strong familiarity with the Porter brand
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel
  • Previous experience with Coupa or other procure to pay solutions an asset but not essential
  • Superior research and cognitive skills
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills, coupled with highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Effective analytical and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
