Job Details

The Inventory Control Administrator maintains accurate inventory records and ensures parts are available for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design procedures and systems to track current inventory levels with a high degree of accuracy

  • Ensure the delivery of all packages within the Porter network are properly tracked and received in a timely manner including serviceable/unused parts, as well as unserviceable parts

  • Work with the Supervisor to review parts issued and ensure Stores Clerks are issuing parts to the correct expense centres

  • Manage the cyclical and annual inventory count process across the network 

  • Analyze and review inventory in the Remote Access Aviation System (RAAS), and adjust as necessary

  • Liaise with PWR  and the Logistics Coordinator to ensure parts and materials are always on-hand in the right location 

  • Manage stock distribution and min/max levels within the Porter network

  • Coordinate with Reliability and Planning to ensure current stock levels can meet future requirements 

  • Identify and reduce excess stock levels

  • Monitor min/max levels and adjust as required

  • Identify obsolete inventory and develop surplus lists for possible re-sale

  • Participate in the scrap/quarantine process to ensure components are removed from inventory in a timely manner

  • Manage monthly inventory (expired product)

  • Provide Senior Leadership with monthly cost report of scrapped and expired inventory 

  • Adjust min/max levels to ensure fewer parts expire and balance against inventory requirements

  • Work with Purchasing and Planning on required stock replenishment prior to and during heavy checks

  • Review requests from heavy and try to fill with stock when possible

  • Communicate with PWR, on-site heavy rep and Stores throughout the checks

  • Oversee the creation of part numbers and maintain existing part number in RAAS

  • Ensure part numbers are properly categorized  and alternative part numbers are identified and approved in consultation with all Engineering, Planning and Reliability and PWR 

  • Actively participates in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy

  • React to “no stock” and “no parts” on shift reports 

  • Must be willing to travel to Canadian and US airports for inventory count purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an aviation stores environment 

  • Well organized, detail oriented and able to work autonomously

  • Proven self-starter with good time management skills

  • Able to obtain airside security clearance

  • Valid G driver’s licence

  • Knowledge of RAAS an asset

  • Knowledge of automated parts handling machines an asset

  • Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination
