TEAM: Revenue Management 

POSITION: Developer, Revenue Management Systems Development 

REPORTS TO: Manager, Revenue Management Systems 


FUNCTION: 
This position is responsible for supporting the company’s Revenue Management (RM) Systems Development initiatives in order to make both an immediate and sustainable long-term positive impact on revenue and profitability.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of technical tools and solutions for the RM department
  • Perform on-going analysis to help evaluate Porter’s RM system
  • Ensure normal day to day operations of RM systems and coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders to quickly resolve system disruptions
  • Evaluate and adjust RM system input parameters and settings to improve forecast accuracy and optimization model performance
  • Collaborate with and support the RM team’s science and technology requirements
  • Contribute towards RM department initiatives from a Research and Development perspective
  • Ability to work independently on projects, with tight deadlines, under minimal supervision
  • Ability to work on business problems by suggesting the technical direction to be taken and measuring intermediate success criteria

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required University degree in Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related quantitative discipline. Master’s degree would be preferred
  • Good understanding of the underlying theory and principles of operations research and related artificial intelligence field
  • Experience programming in R, Python, C++, Java or other programming languages
  • High level of Proficiency with SQL and relational databases
  • Strong algorithmic and modeling skills
  • Very strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Experience/general knowledge of Revenue Management Systems, Airline Network Planning is an asset
  • Ability to work independently on projects, with tight deadlines, under minimal supervision
