Job Details

The Sales Coordinator, Events & Communications supports the Sales team with the delivery of all travel agency event programs, trade media, FAMs, and industry conferences/trade shows.  This role is responsible for developing agency sales collateral, communication, and promotional strategies designed to stimulate sales for new and existing Porter products. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, coordinate and implement travel agency marketing material promoting new routes, network, product, brand, policies, incentives and sales campaigns, targeting travel trade.

  • Work with Porter’s Marketing and Communication departments, as needed.

  • With the support of the Manager - Distribution, develop and write travel trade messaging and positioning based on business and commercial inputs received from various internal stakeholders (Agency Sales, Corporate Sales, Revenue Management, Marketing and Communications) for use and distribution through the travel agency channel including but not limited to e-newsletters, social, sales sheets, sales presentations, brochures, digital and print ads, etc.;

  • Maintain branding guidelines across all collateral developed for the Sales team;

  • Represent sales team, as required, on internal and external working groups

  • Monitor, review and report on campaign activities and results.

  • Maintains Agency Sales contact, email distribution list as well as trade show/ event calendar.

  • Coordinates and internally communicates all sales team events.

  • Coordinates logistics including shipping to and from events such as collateral and promotional materials e.g sales sheets, giveaways, booth branding materials/displays etc.)

  • Coordinates hotel accommodation, transportation, and event registrations for sales team members attending trade shows and conferences

  • Oversee sales banners and promotional item (SWAG) inventory and responsible for distribution of items to cross functional teams.

  • Communicates directly with marketing and trade media partners to maximize digital advertising and paid media opportunities.

  • Supports Manager, Distribution with events and promotional budget by tracking and processing event / program costs.

  • Other tasks and projects as assigned by the Director, Agency Sales & Distribution

  • Actively participates in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in communications, marketing, and coordinating sales events

  • Proven organizational and prioritization skills with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;

  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player, and proven customer orientation.

  • Attention to detail with exceptional copywriting and editing skills.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

  • Comfortable working independently with minimum supervision, and within a team environment assisting colleagues whenever possible

  • Good working knowledge of B2B sales and the various distribution channels;

  • Proficiency with Google suite and Microsoft Office programs Word, PowerPoint and Excel;

  • Good understanding and experience in the airline industry (passenger environment, sales and marketing structures, methodologies, terminology, overall objectives and strategies) is an asset.

  • Proficiency in French; spoken and written, is an asset

  • Recent GDS knowledge, is an asset

  • Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination
