Job Details

FUNCTION: Reporting to the Manager, Line Maintenance and the Station Manager, Boston


  • Troubleshoot aircraft structural, mechanical, electrical or hydraulic systems to identify problems and adjust and repair systems according to specifications, technical drawings, manuals and established procedures

  • Repair and overhaul aircraft structural, mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems 

  • Install or modify aircraft engines, mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel and pneumatic systems 

  • Dismantle airframes, aircraft engines or other aircraft systems for repair, overhaul and cleaning, and reassemble 

  • Perform and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance 

  • Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies

  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy

  • Assist on the ramp as required

  • Completion of secondary school is required 

  • A college diploma in aircraft maintenance from a Transport Canada approved educational facility OR certification from an FAA approved Aviation Maintenance Technician School

  • Holder of a valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's (AME) license issued by Transport Canada OR a holder of a valid Airframe and Powerplant AMT (A&P) license issued by the Federal Aviation Administration  

  • Holder of a valid Massachusetts RMV Class D drivers license, or the ability to obtain one

  • Ability to obtain necessary security clearances and successfully complete the company screening process

  • Dependability (must have a clear attendance record and reliable on time reporting for work)

  • Working hours may vary dependent on aircraft requirements. Some overtime and being on call will be required

  • Minimum 2 years of line maintenance experience on the Dash-8 Q400

  • Q400 endorsement preferred

  • Satisfies CAR 403.05 by ensuring aircraft maintenance has been performed for at least 6 months within the preceding 24 months
