POSITION: Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

REPORTS TO:  Director, Business Intelligence 


The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is responsible for the expansion of Porter’s Business Intelligence (BI) capabilities, maximizing multiple data resources across the airline's' reservations, schedule planning, competitive intelligence, flight tracking, crew planning and financial reporting platforms.
The role will work on several projects that support multiple departments within the organization such as operations, marketing and others. The role will involve working with cross-functional teams and supporting the project teams with data analysis, reports, and dashboard creation.
The Senior BI Analyst must have advanced critical thinking capabilities that can be used in data processing, advanced analytics, applied statistics, process optimization, and report prototyping and deployment.


  • Prototype, deploy and support revenue and customer-related analytics and executive dashboards.
  • Participate in data control and governance, data transformations, the coordination of BI tools with external suppliers, and the gathering of report requirements across the organization.
  • Assist in the management of company-wide reporting environment, including request intake process, change management and training support.
  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote The Company Safety Policy.
  • Concern for Safety: Identifying hazardous or potentially hazardous situations and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe environment for self and others.

  • Fostering Communication: Listening and communicating openly, honestly, and respectfully with different audiences, promoting dialogue and building consensus.
  • 3+ years’ experience in data analytics and business intelligence.
  • 3+ years’ experience in using data analysis tools such as Microsoft SQL server, Alteryx, SAS EG or similar.
  • Must be proficient in SQL coding to query and analyze data. Must have experience in creating dashboards and stories in Tableau.
  • Passionate about data, analytics and reporting. Must be highly proactive, possess advanced problem-solving ability and critical and strategic thinking skills
  • Highly effective project management skills; the ability to participate and lead multiple high-profile projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills are a must
  • A bachelor’s degree required in the technology or business fields.
