Job Details

Reporting to the Manager, Crew Scheduling, the Supervisor, Crew Scheduling Training lends administrative, technical and functional leadership to the Crew Scheduling team within Porter’s Operations Centre. The role supports Porter’s pursuit of industry leading operational performance by developing and delivering effective procedures, through ongoing training and feedback to achieve high levels of individual performance within these groups. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Lend leadership and coaching that promotes the professional development of all staff both technically and interpersonally to foster the development of a strong, highly motivated, professional culture within the department

  • Develop, coordinate, instruct and assess initial, recurrent, upgrade, on the job training and additional training programs to Crew Scheduling personnel 

  • Assist with the maintenance of training records for all Crew Scheduling team members and the administration of the Learning Management System (LMS) courses and material.

  • Develop online technical training to ensure compliance with the scheduling requirements set out in the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) for crew.

  • Revise existing procedures and generate new processes to enhance safety, knowledge and efficiencies within the scheduling team.

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the Crew Scheduling Training Manual in coordination with the Manager of Crew Scheduling.

  • Provide course material guidance in the form of subject matter expertise to support the best interest of the Company, particularly during irregular operations (IROPs)

  • Manage other training administrative duties as assigned by the Manager, Crew Scheduling

  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy. 

  • Acting Manager on duty as designated 

  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager, SOCC or designate

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years within SOCC, Crew Scheduling or relevant airline experience 

  • Excellent working knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations with particular regard to crew duty and rest regulations.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive unit

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to foster learning 

  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented; ability to work under pressure and perform and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to secure and maintain restricted airport security clearance 

  • Familiarity with Navblue N-OC preferred

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, shift work and overtime as required

  • Previous Experience as a Crew Scheduler Preferred

  • Post-secondary education in Aviation preferred

  • Experience in adult learning facilitation is an asset 

  • Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination
