FUNCTION:Reporting to the Director, Safety, this position supports aviation safety at Porter Airlines through assessment of company safety performance.
Reviews data for the purpose of extracting patterns predictive of safety hazards;
Develops and presents trend analysis reports of company safety performance;
Conducts a thorough investigation of safety hazards, incidents, and accidents;
Provides guidance to Departmental Safety Assurance Managers regarding the progress and completion of investigations, analyses, implementation of corrective action, and audit processes with a view to improving the effectiveness of these processes;
Develops and disseminates the annual Safety Survey;
Audits the effectiveness of corrective action plans as required;
Maintains records of all training offered by the Safety Department;
Supports the administration of the Safety Management System;
Completes other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
2 -3 years previous experience of working in the safety management system of a CAR 705 commercial airline
Post-secondary academic training in data science and predictive analytics
Excellent working knowledge of Transport Canada requirements for a safety management system
Familiarity with commercial flight operations and/or aircraft maintenance operations
Prior experience in the conduct of an investigation, root cause, and trend analysis
Experience in the development, implementation, and promotion of quality management, quality assurance and risk management programs
Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills; keen attention to detail
Ability to secure and maintain restricted airport security clearance
Must maintain a valid passport and be able to travel when required
