Job Details

FUNCTION: Reporting to the Manager, FBO. The Acting Supervisor, Line Service FBO will be responsible for overseeing and assisting with the day to day operational functions of all line service team members which includes the overall administration and staffing requirements of the operation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Focus on safety, awareness and training for all FBO line service team members
  • Create and maintain a team environment, where every line service representative (LSR) behaves and feels part of a cohesive unit
  • Monitor staff for procedural compliance IE: 360s, reversing with marshaller, chocking of trucks on FBO ramp parking area, wearing of PPE etc.
  • Auditing of LSR team, including recording date/time and audit findings.
  • Assist with scheduling of FBO team members
  • Administer recurrent and initial training of all FBO team members 
  • Develop and implement corrective action for operational and staff deficiencies 
  • Ensure the compliance of LSR team members to the rules and regulations of Porter FBO and BBTCA
  • Ensure maximum manpower assigned to Porter flights at all times
  • Work with LSR team to assign duties and breaks to LSRs at the start of their shift
  • Maintain weekly, monthly and annual logs for WFS mobile refuellers and Porter Fuel Farm
  • Ensure FSII records are maintained
  • Monitor fuel inventory balances for both Avgas and Jet fuel and liaise with CSRs to place fuel orders as required
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of line service in testing aviation fuel, applying knowledge of quality assurance standards and procedures
  • General cleanliness and upkeep of Porter FBO shuttle vehicles and lektros
  • Coach and mentor all LSRs to create an operationally safe environment
  • Ensure that all line service team members are following safety procedures as outlined in the Porter FBO Line Service Training Manual WFS/IOL manuals
  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including interviewing applicants for the LSR position
  • Conduct monthly evaluations of probationary team members and provide feedback to the FBO Manager
  • Conduct performance related meetings and coach and motivate all team members through any dispute resolution, and deal with other issues or problems as they arise and as directed by the Manager, FBO
  • Ensure the Manager, FBO is made aware all procedural noncompliance and performance issues in detail
  • Conduct daily shift briefings with LSR Lead and team members
  • Participate in regular team meetings with the Line Service team
  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondary education would be preferred
  • Solid airline background and experience in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of FBO operations is an asset
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills are essential
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Must be dependable and reliable with minimal supervision
  • Energetic and a self-starter
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to obtain an unrestricted airport security pass
  • Flexibility and available to work varied hours
