Job Details
FUNCTION: Reporting to the Manager, Flight Operations Administration, the Technical Librarian ensures that all publications and libraries required for the operation of the airline are current. The Technical Librarian also ensures the distribution of amendments to all manuals, including Flight Operations Bulletins, are tracked using a combination of electronic signatures via the Flight Operations website and/or paper receipts duly signed and returned by the manual holder.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and revise the Flight Operations library soft copy and hard copy (if applicable), FOM, AFM, SOP, MEL, FOAG, TCM, GADPM, FDM, Master QRH and FAM as required
Maintain and revise each aircraft library with current publications of the FOM, SOP, GADPM and MEL
Procure publications/duplications of all Flight Operations company manuals from outside vendors for all Flight Crew, Management personnel, aircraft, SOCC and other relevant departments
Distribute all relevant company manuals to Transport Canada, FAA, Transportation Safety Board or other regulatory agencies
All Jeppesen amendments on each aircraft including operations library copies will be amended, distributed, and inventoried by the Technical Librarian
Organize, manage, and maintain all document storage in accordance with regulatory requirements
Maintain master log of all manuals, including electronic
Troubleshoot and investigate problem/missing paperwork
Ensure all operations entries are complied with as per Transport Canada Regulations
Update and maintain SOCC and FOA World libraries and liaise with external bases
Implement corrective actions for audit deficiencies in areas which you have control and/or responsibility
Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
Complete Flight Operations administrative duties as assigned
Special projects and other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess sound technical records knowledge and airline experience
High school graduate; college degree an asset
Experience with data entry
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel
Proficient with Apple Software, including iPad technology
Analytical thinking with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to work well in a team environment
Must be able to obtain Transport Canada airside security clearance
Able to work varied shifts/hours as required
Must be dependable and punctual
