Job Details

FUNCTION: Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Purchasing, this position will focus on processing purchases of aircraft components and consumables that are required for Technical Operations. Working directly with suppliers, the Coordinator, Purchasing will establish professional relationships to ensure an continuous flow of parts to Porter’s operations at the best value.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately process all purchase, exchange and loan orders to ensure an uninterrupted flow of aircraft parts to the operation, ensuring that vendors meet the agreed turnaround time
  • Review vendor competencies and ensure that procured parts have required certifications
  • Assist Engineering and Line Maintenance by creating purchase orders for 3rd party labour
  • Source and negotiate the most cost effective options to support Porter’s Technical Operations, ensuring that all materials procured meet company and regulatory bodies standards for quality
  • Aircraft on Ground (AOG) coordination is not a regular function of this role, it will involve AOG support
  • Proactively work on clarifications and discrepancies with all stakeholders as they occur, including suppliers, other Technical Operations departments and Accounts Payable
  • Generate reports to support Purchasing processes and tracking of KPIs
  • Maintain records and files according to the company’s policy
  • Develop cost savings initiatives
  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
  • Perform support functions and duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with MRO/AMO software such as RAAS, TRAX, WinAir or similar is an asset
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Aviation experience in a Stores or Procurement environment is an asset
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Professional, assertive approach to problem solving
  • Use organization skills to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Post-secondary education desirable
  • Able to obtain a Transport Canada restricted area pass
