Reporting to the Supervisor, Training, Systems Support, this position supports Porter’s Approved Maintenance Organization by performing functions related to the Technical Operations Training Program and Approved Training Organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research and develop technical ATA course modules for the Embraer ERJ 190-400, E195-E2 in support of Porter’s Approved Training Organization
Write user-friendly course syllabus and detailed Instructor notes to ensure presentation continuity between all instructors
Create written exams for type endorsement training based on the requirements contained with the Canadian Aviation Regulations, Standard 566
Deliver theoretical and practical type endorsement training for the Embraer ERJ 190-400, E195-E2
Future development of technical ATA course modules for the DeHavilland DHC-8-400 type endorsement
Develop aircraft technical familiarization courses for internal delivery and delivery to third party MROs
Develop, coordinate, and conduct initial, recurrent, upgrade and additional training programs to the Technical Operations team, with focus on the Line Maintenance team and Base Engineers
Adhere to policies, processes and procedures contained within the Technical Operations Training Control Manual
Assist with course and class administration within the Learning Management System (LMS)
Ongoing training development in areas such as AME/ACA/Lead/MOC upgrades, RAAS and AMOS training, aircraft system maintenance, troubleshooting, line maintenance operations, aircraft maintenance documentation, etc.
Provide letters of recommendation to the Manager, Maintenance Quality Assurance and Director, Maintenance for the upgrade of team members
Liaise with the Training Coordinator and Supervisor, Training Systems Support to ensure authorization cards reflect accurate categories and limitations
Promote current policies and procedures defined in the Maintenance Policy and Maintenance
Control Manuals and incorporated Detailed Procedures Documents
Revise existing procedures and generate new processes to enhance safety, knowledge and efficiencies based on the outcome of the Quality Assurance Program and Safety Management System
Participate in regular departmental meetings
Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy

QUALIFICATIONS:
A college diploma in aircraft maintenance from a Transport Canada approved educational facility
Holder of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licence
DHC-8-Q400 endorsement preferred
Embraer experience an asset, E190 family
A minimum of five years’ experience working within an Approved Maintenance Organization
Experience working within a leadership capacity an asset (e.g. Maintenance Operations Coordinator, Lead Aircraft Certification Authority, etc.)
Experience in learning and adult learning facilitation is an asset
Highly knowledgeable of the DHC-8-Q400 as well as Approved Maintenance Organization and Air Operator processes, and possess the ability to present their subject in an effective manner
Excellent working knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations with particular regard to CAR
573.06 and 706.12 including all associated standards
Proficient computer skills with the ability to generate published documents
Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive unit
Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced work environment
Proven leadership skills with the ability to foster learning
Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
Experience working with technology to improve user experience: design, user-interface, and help refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content
Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
Ability to secure and maintain restricted airport security clearance
Must maintain a valid passport and be able to travel when required
