POSITION: UX Specialist


Reports to: Manager, CX Digital Design


Function:


As a UX Specialist, you will use a mix of creativity and strong analytical skills to identify website optimization opportunities and then develop and execute an implementation plan. You will continuously iterate and refine the digital optimization plan based on learnings from user testing, new analytical insights, and the changing landscape in the digital space. This job is ideal for you if you want to use your creativity, curiosity, analytical thinking, and web development skills to make a measurable, positive impact on the airline user experience.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Work with stakeholders to breakdown their business needs into digital solutions that leverage best practices and delight our users.
  • Solid experience in leveraging consumer insights and the ability to turn data into insightful findings and business recommendations.
  • Develop measurement plans, ensuring data integrity and provide recommendations for our internal teams.
  • The ability to understand the needs of multiple stakeholders, teams and targets and marry those needs with digital needs.
  • Develop use cases to support the definition and design of applications
  • Communicate designs using diagrams, flows, detailed specs, and interactive prototypes
  • Evaluate interfaces, for example with usability tests, heuristic evaluations or solicit internal stakeholder feedback.
  • Research and propose new product features
  • Collaborate with designers to create UX / UI workflows based on research
  • Develop and present ideas to internal and external stakeholders
  • Create detailed requirements and define user stories
  • Collaborate with team members to clarify requirements and achieve the right balance of scope and schedule
  • Collaborate with product owners and technology to perform a gap analysis
  • Help troubleshoot, test and document escalated issues
  • Create materials to help train additional teams on new functionality
  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including,  reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager, CX Digital Design

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIEINCE:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business, Design or equivalent
  • Diploma in business analysis, user-experience or interactive design
  • Knowledge of user-centric design
  • Experience in mobile or desktop application design (wireframes, storyboards, workflows)
  • Experience with prototyping tools (Axure, Sketch or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of UX validation methods (usability tests, heuristic evaluations)
  • Ability to multitask, attention to detail, ability to demonstrate initiative and perform tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in teams with UX/UI designers, developers and other stakeholders
  • Resilience to work across a number of projects with a variety of team members and balance own workload
  • Good communicator
  • Knowledge of airline or travel industry an asset
