Job Details

FUNCTION: Reporting to the Director, YTZ Airport Operations, Customer Service, and Security; the Security Specialist will be responsible for coordinating various duties and performing administrative functions for the security department.
  
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee FOB access and programming in specific areas
  • Jointly oversee security issues with respect to Porter Airlines, regardless of base of operation.
  • Complete, under guidance, any investigations required.
  • Jointly oversee internal and external audits related to the Corporate Security Department
  • Work with external stakeholders when required – CATSA, TSA, CBP, CBSA, and police amongst others.
  • Delivery of security training to various stakeholders within Porter.
  • Assist in the response to all pre-travel fraudulent transactions committed against Porter Airlines, including all credit card chargebacks made against the Company.
  • Assist in other duties related to fraud and fraud prevention including responding within allotted timelines, providing accurate documentation, coordinating all assigned pre-arbitration chargeback cases and working with other Porter team members
  • Ability to travel within Canada and the United States occasionally and on short notice
  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Security, law enforcement, or related post-secondary degree or diploma required
  • Experience in the security or law enforcement industry is an asset
  • Strong preference would be given to those with relevant courses or training in the security, investigative or law enforcement fields
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a Restricted Airside Identity Card (RAIC)
  • Must have a valid Passport and be able to travel within Canada and the United States
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of airline booking systems (Navitaire, Sabre etc.)
  • Knowledge of third party credit card processing (e.g. Elavon)
  • Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
