Job Details

Porter Airlines is looking for a Business Architect  to join our Solutions Delivery team. In this position you will work collaboratively within the business, technology and front-line teams to develop better and/or more innovative ways to meet our goals or overcome obstacles.  You will be responsible for the conceptualization and analysis stages of our implementation cycle.  

The Business Architect reports directly to the VP, Digital, Loyalty and Solutions Delivery and will lead the business analysts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work broadly with business owners, UX researchers, PMs, BAs  and technology to break down the business needs into technology/ business solutions that leverage best practices, increase efficiency within our front-line groups and delight Porter customers.
  • Facilitate workshops, conduct interviews and gather data to develop potential solutions.  
  • Develop process and activity maps to support the development and communication of the solution.
  • Present and articulate business/technology solutions to audiences across the organization in a compelling way.
  • Ensure solutions are developed with identified metrics to measure the solution success.
  • Through the implementation process collaborate broadly with business owners, PMs, BAS and technology teams to adjust/tweak or revise solutions that might need to be adjusted due to business or technical challenges that have been identified.  
  • Work with the technology and digital managers, UX researcher, PMs and BAs to develop the conceptual design and a business analysis processes and templates and ensure they fit within our agile process.  
  • Provide day to day and front-line leadership to a small team of  business analysts. 
  • Manage the BAs to develop detailed use cases, business requirements and provide support through the development process.
  • Delegate and coordinate tasks and oversee the activities of the business analyst team.
  • Provide thoughtful feedback, guidance, support, and encouragement to the business analysts.
  • Work independently, but know when to raise issues or seek help from managers and others.
  • Participate in recruiting and hiring of business analysts.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and teamwork.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor degree in a related discipline.  Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience working as a business analyst 
  • Minimum  2 years as a business architect.
  • Experience managing  teams.
  • Previous Consulting or client service delivery experience preferred
  • Travel or airline industry experience preferred.  
  • Ability to multitask, attention to detail, ability to demonstrate initiative. 
  • Ability to cope with stress and resilience to work across a number of projects with a variety of team members and balance own workload.
  • Comfortable in a ever changing environment
