Job Details

The Lead ACA Reports to the Manager, Line Maintenance. They Support the line maintenance team on a wide range of regular and ad-hoc initiatives, including coordinating the return to service of aircraft during AOG events and actual hands-on support.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are accomplished in accordance with the policies and procedures contained in the MCM, MPM, DPDs, aircraft and component maintenance manuals and Transport Canada requirements.

  • Maintain an AME M2 or E license and ACA qualifications on company aircraft and assume the responsibilities of an ACA if the operation requires support.

  • Responsible for controlling all YTZ maintenance activity.

  • Liaise with MOC, Planning and Operations to schedule overnight work packages, hangar availability, and gate movements.

  • Responsible for all Apprentices, AME’s, and ACA’s, including time keeping, delegating tasks and ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.

  • Responsible for the Line Maintenance Engineer’s queries including safety concerns, feedback about the hangar, differences/conflicts between team members, and forward these concerns to the Supervisor, Line Maintenance and/or Manager, Line Maintenance as required.

  • Assist with ground support equipment (GSE) maintenance, generating logs for any equipment that requires repair.

  • Responsible for ensuring the consumable materials and tooling stored in the hangar and service vehicles are maintained in a neat and tidy manner.

  • Will work with the Manager, Stores and Inventory Control to ensure calibrated tooling used and stored in YTZ is properly maintained.

  • Responsible for assisting with AOG maintenance system wide by providing manpower when required.

  • Conversely, may call upon Shop Team Members to assist if the workload requires extra manpower.

  • Ensure the hangar work areas, including all locations in hangar 5, hangar 6, and service vehicles are kept clean in an effort to maintain a safe work environment.

  • Utilize the SMS reporting program for any hazards or incidents that may occur.

  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a Transport Canada AME license, M2, E or S.

  • Endorsed, via an approved course, on the aircraft type under their supervision.

  • Have at least 5 years maintenance experience with an Air Carrier or AMO.

  • Must be knowledgeable of the provisions set out in the Canadian Aviation Regulations for the proper performance of their duties.

  • Knowledgeable on Porter Airlines’ computer based maintenance software, RAAS and/or AMOS considered an asset.

  • Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination.
