FUNCTION: Reporting to the Manager, Crew Resources, the Pilot Training Planner is responsible for all yearly, monthly, and daily training planning for all Pilots.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Projections and planning for all Pilot Training
Tracking and managing the scheduling of all Initial, Recurrent, Specialty, Requalification and Upgrade Pilot Training, including classrooms, instructors, resources, etc.
Coordination with various internal departments and with external vendors for training they provide to Porter Airlines’ pilots
Coordination with the Manager, Pilot Training on all matters related to training;
Managing the seniority training bid via the crew bidding software
Liaise with Transport Canada to request extensions on training as required
Track completion of training and ensure that appropriate parties are notified if a candidate fails or does not complete training, and coordinate with various individuals to set up remedial or additional training as required
Coordinate with Records Administrator to help ensure training records are up-to-date and accurate; including conducting and assisting in audits
Track and report qualifications for newly upgraded Captains and initial First-Officers
Assist Manager, Pilot Training and Manager, Crew Resources with preparations of their annual budgets
Providing courtesy reminders to the pilots and make training schedules available on-line;
Input scheduling and pay changes in crew scheduling software
Plan and adjust monthly schedules for Training Captains and Approved Check Pilots
Availability outside of regular office hours when necessary
Additional duties as assigned by the Manager, Crew Resources

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 2-years’ experience as a Crew Scheduler/Planner (or other relevant experience)
Knowledge of CrewTrac or FLICA software preferred
Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations related to flight crew
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google documents
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective time management
Superior interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
Excellent decision-making ability
Self-starter with high motivation
Impartiality, integrity, tenacity, diplomacy and self-reliance are key attributes
Strong knowledge of FOQA, FDA, CARs, and safety management system requirements
Ability to work well independently and as part of a cohesive unit
Fully computer literate with the ability to generate published documents
