The Manager, Inventory Optimization is responsible for managing the day to day inventory strategy of the company’s assigned market regions to maximize revenue. This position reports to the Director, Inventory and Ancillary Optimization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the planning and implementation of inventory strategies for dynamic and growing regions of the network to maximize revenue across the system
Work closely with pricing, inventory optimization, revenue management systems, and other commercial functions such as planning and scheduling, sales and distribution
Manage inventory controls for all Porter sales channels, including direct, GDS and corporate booking tools
Evaluate the impact of competitors’ pricing and revenue management actions and implement appropriate responses
Monitor market performance to ensure that revenue objectives are achieved and implement appropriate revenue growth strategies to correct performance shortfalls
Perform analysis, report, and advise on detailed revenue matters of the assigned regions
Build and implement tools required to improve efficiency of the inventory management function
Review and approve quotes for large and high value group bookings in line with expected demand to come and current fare environment
Assist with implementation of inventory management-related system projects and upgrades
Assist with the ongoing adaptation, refinement and active usage of the company’s revenue management system
Manage the adoption of new process and system enhancements from the company’s revenue management system
Manage a team of Inventory analysts to achieve desired targets for markets within the assigned regions
Remain current on leading approaches, practices and technologies in revenue management, and introducing those most relevant
Actively participates in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy

QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership role within an airline that is highly dependent on revenue management as a core competence
An undergraduate degree in business, commerce, industrial engineering/optimization or information systems, and ideally, an MBA
Experience managing a team of direct reports
In-depth knowledge in using industry standard revenue management systems
Good knowledge of analysis and reporting tools as well as SQL
Experience in the Canadian and U.S. cross-border airline markets and their associated revenue management dynamics
