THE OPPORTUNITY:

Porter is looking for experienced User Experience Designers to join our growing Digital Team.

You might be able to tell, but we are very proud of our brand, both online and offline. To become a part of our team, you need to be passionate about user-centered design and love solving complex UX challenges. You need to excel in building highly usable, intuitive and accessible digital products that will make the travel experience seamless for all Porter customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for planning activities and deliverables such as business requirements gathering, user personas, user needs and journey maps
  • Create site maps, wireframes, storyboards, user flows and prototypes to communicate the intended design direction
  • Create visual design concepts and mock-ups for hand-off to development
  • Collaborate with teams to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience design
  • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
  • Coordinate with the web development team and participate in the QA process throughout development
  • Participate in usability testing and other research methods to validate your designs
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
  • All other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

An ideal candidate holds a degree in interaction design or human computer interaction and is able to meet the following requirements:
  • You are well-versed in one or more of the industry standard prototyping tools, such as Figma, InVision or Axure. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • You are able to create high-quality interaction flows and mock-ups aligned with established brand standards that accurately communicate product functionality to the design, web development and quality assurance teams.

BONUS POINTS IF…
  • You understand digital accessibility guidelines and have experience building digital content and applications that can be used by a wide range of people, including individuals who have visual, motor, auditory, speech, or cognitive disabilities.
  • You have experience with qualitative and quantitative user research methods and tools (prototyping, user interviews, usability testing, persona development, journey mapping)
  • You know a little HTML, CSS or Java Script (don’t worry, we won’t ask you to code; it’ll just make it easier to communicate and work with our web development team.)

Our Digital Team is currently working from home. We will be returning back to our Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) office soon and gradually transitioning to a hybrid workplace model that includes a combination of time in the office and work from home. Right now, we have the tools, onboarding program and a great support team to set you up for work from home success!
