Job Details

The Standards Specialist is a member of the Standards and Quality Assurance team responsible for executing functions aimed at providing assurance that plans are being implemented and procedures are being performed as per department and company policies.

This role is accountable for observing and collecting information and data across Airport Operations at all levels in support of enhancing team effectiveness and performance to enable consistent, reliable and safe operations and passenger service execution to defined standards. Information is collected via audits, surveys and key measures, which is then analyzed and summary reports generated.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Executes established Airport Operations audits across the network, ensuring compliance with safety, reliability, service, commercial and regulatory standards and guidelines.

  • Summarizes and reports findings relative to established standards to enable configuration of corrective actions where warranted.

  • Assists in the deployment of performance measures and associated data generation, collection and analysis in support of operational performance dashboards and reports.

  • Participates in formal compliance audits and inspections of Airport Operations activities performed by company work crews and third-party contract workers. 

  • Participates in regular performance standards checks throughout the Porter network to identify instances and detect trends of procedural non-conformance and lack of compliance with service level agreements and report findings to management.

  • Assists investigations of safety hazards/incidents and monitors compliance with corrective actions to achieve and maintain a safe and accident-free operation. 

  • Contributes to a high-performance culture of teamwork and commitment to service and operational reliability throughout Airport Operations, with focus on standards oversight and compliance monitoring to identify areas of concern needing correcting.

  • Performs this Airport Operations role across the network, involving considerable fieldwork as required.  

  • Provides input to updates and maintenance of the Airport Operations Quality Assurance manual

  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting of hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations.

  • Understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University Degree

  • Experience with operations performance monitoring and audit practices

  • Experience in continuous process improvement methodologies

  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting

  • Proficient in Google office suite with focus on Sheets (spreadsheet) software

  • Superior oral and written communication skills

  • Able to hold all required security clearances

  • Able to communicate and correspond clearly and precisely in English

  • Able to hold and maintain a valid Passport (required for travel)

  • Able to hold and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identification Card

  • Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination
