Job Details

FUNCTION: The Assistant Chief Pilot, Embraer E2 Training is responsible to the Chief Pilot, Embraer E2 for the development, coordination, conduct and management of the Pilot Initial, Conversion and Recurrent Training Programs for the Embraer E2 fleet operated by Porter Airlines Inc.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for all matters relating to Embraer E2 pilot training;
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures in coordination with the Flight Operations Standardization Board;
  • Developing and/or implementing all required approved training programs for the flight crews in consultation with the Chief Pilot, Embraer E2;
  • Appointing Training Pilots;
  • Overseeing simulator training and conducting simulator training as required;
  • Ensuring that adequate training records are maintained for each pilot in the Company’s employ, as outlined in CASS 725.124 and in the Training Control Manual (TCM);
  • Maintaining and supervising the initial training program which includes the new hire simulator program, initial ground school, flight deck procedures training, airborne training as applicable, and line indoctrination;
  • Maintaining and supervising the recurrent pilot training program which includes the recurrent ground school and simulator program;
  • The ongoing program of training development in such areas as CRM, GPS navigation, advanced navigation and on board systems, computer enhanced training aids for ground school, and enhanced initial and recurrent training aids;
  • In coordination with the Chief Pilot, the supervision of Training Pilots, ground school instructors, and CRM facilitators in the day to day performance of their duties;
  • Actively participating in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company
  • Safety Policy; and Other duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot, Embraer E2.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Active Pilot or ability to become an active Pilot at Porter Airlines with a thorough understanding of Porter policies and procedures
  • Active ACP qualification, or ability to become an ACP in the future
  • Thorough understanding of the Canadian Aviation Regulations, Standards and other Transport Canada publications
  • Embodies and exhibits the Porter values in everyday work
  • Post-Secondary education is considered an asset
