Job Description

FUNCTION: Reporting to the Supervisor, Facilities, the Facilities Cleaner is responsible for the upkeep of our facility and to ensure a clean and orderly condition.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Light and heavy cleaning of the facility in its entirety

  • Sweeping, Dusting, and Mopping

  • Vacuuming / Shampooing carpets

  • Washroom, kitchen, and office cleaning

  • Window cleaning

  • Waste removal and disposal

  • Facility routine cleanliness inspections

  • Inventory, storing, stocking, and replenishing supplies

  • Respond to impromptu cleaning calls for facility and aircraft cleaning needs

  • Biohazard cleanup

  • Perform and document routine cleaning

  • Carry out special cleaning projects

  • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or concerns

  • Treat all coworkers with respect and dignity

  • Follow all procedures / health and safety regulations

  • Actively participate in Porters SMS

  • Operate cleaning equipment

  • Escort contractors when required

  • Ability to work with chemicals / SDS familiarity

  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
 

  • Experience as a cleaner

  • Ability to obtain full airport security clearance (RAIC)

  • Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions in English, both orally and in writing

  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies

  • Ability to work weekends and holidays  

  • Works well on a team as well as independently

  • Dependable and takes initiative

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Work both indoors and outdoors
