Job Description

The Inventory Coordinator, Catering Operations, working with the Catering Inventory Specialist is responsible for the daily operational inventory requirements for Porter’s Dash 8 and E195-E2 fleet of Aircraft. This position also assists in forecast planning, ordering, replenishment,  receiving, timely shipping, and monitoring the catering inventory at YTZ and all E195 Hubs and outstations where required. This position reports to the Catering Inventory Specialist

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Team

 

  • Assist in developing and implementing with the Catering Inventory Specialist catering inventory management in conjunction with IFCS inventory module and Google workspace.

  • Assist the Catering Inventory Specialist in training for Porter Catering , Porter last mile providers and Porter 3rd party caterers.

 

Financial

 

  • Assist and maintain with the Catering Inventory Specialist in forecasting Catering department needs including all bespoke items.

  • Accountable for stock movements to Porter Catering YTZ, Last mile providers and 3rd party Catering facilities.

  • Initiating purchase orders and requisitions for Porter Catering YTZ, Last mile providers and 3rd party catering facilities.including outsations for Dash 8 fleet.

 

Other Duties

 

  • Receiving and managing inbound receiving for Catering

  • Assist in E195-E2 and Dash 8 system inventory replenishment through IFCS Inventory Management systems and YTZ based inventory control management Google Workspace.

  • Assist with product development where required.

  • Maintain stocking standards for efficient forecasting and replenishment.

  • Responsible for maintaining direct and fulfillment deadlines to all Catering stations

  • External correspondence with Suppliers, 3rd Party Catering kitchens, last mile providers and outstations where required.

  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy

  • Any other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Knowledge of airline catering with an inventory management background with a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience

  • Must be able to obtain and hold required security clearances

  • Must be able to drive a forklift and pass the Porter accredited forklift training session

  • Previous experience required in handling numerous responsibilities and prioritizing workloads

  • Ability to troubleshoot areas that may impede forward progress.

  • Knowledge of food safety and Catering protocols

  • Must be able to work airport operational hours and rotating shifts when required

  • Able to work unsupervised.

  • Energetic and a self-starter

  • Computer skills in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to travel

  • Mandatory COVID 19 Vaccination
